Cohen's Birth Story

As many of you know we welcomed our son Cohen Timothy into the world on February 9, 2015.  After 22 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing he finally arrived via C-Section at 6:33PM! My life has forever changed and I can’t imagine it without him. I had an amazing support team that consisted of my Husband, Mom and Sister. They were by my side for every water, ginger ale, and popsicle run, then counted down every attempted push.  When I told them I quit and wanted to go home (I wish I was lying but this really did happen) they were there with much needed words of encouragement to revive my energy.  When it came down to the decision to go into a C-section you can imagine the support it took from them to get me through it.  They took pictures, made jokes, wiped my tears, and encouraged me the whole time.  They even dealt with my edgy attitude like when I yelled at Tim for singing Bette Midler’s “You are the wind beneath my wings” (in all fairness he was trying to make me laugh but I was beyond tired).  Thank you to my Dad who ran back and forth between home and the hospital to take care of the dogs and then patiently standing by after receiving commands from bossy nurses. It all lead to the life changing moment as my Husband held my hand through the entire C-Section and wiped the tears from my face as I heard Cohen cry for the first time.  I was so nervous going into the hospital, and it turned out to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I would do it a thousand times over again if that’s what it took to bring this little guy into our lives.
